Nvidia Shield Tablet Android 5.0 Lollipop update rolling out

The LTE-enabled Nvidia Shield Tablet is receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop this week. The rollout has already started and the LTE version is the latest to be announced as the recipient of Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Nvidia Shield gaming tablet is among the best tablets on the market, a close competitor to the iPad Air, Nexus 7 and even Nexus 9. Nvidia Shield Tablet reviews point out the fact that it has a great design and display, as well as the above average battery life which should be improved even more by Android 5.0 Lollipop and its features.

Google announced at the beginning of the month that the Nvidia Shield Tablet Android 5.0 Lollipop update would be rolling out by the end of the month, and they kept that promise. Even though we previously thought that Android 5.0 Lollipop would be released to Nexus, Nvidia and Google Play Edition devices earlier than the end of the month, it’s good to see that by the end of the year, most of these devices will receive their Material Design touting new mobile OS. The Nvidia Shield Tablet has already received the OTA from Google, but the LTE-enabled sibling is just receiving the update since yesterday. While most Wi-Fi Nvidia Shield tablets have already received the Lollipop treatment, the LTE Nvidia Shield Tablet is second in line.

If you are thinking that Android 5.0 Lollipop is just great by itself, with Material Design, ART runtime and Project Volta, you will be surprised by what else the update will bring to the Nvidia Shield Tablet: Dabbler. The Dabbler app is something Nvidia added to the Android 5.0 Lollipop update and with good intentions. Dabbler is a graphics-editing app with layer support, various effects and custom stencils. Since the Nvidia Shield Tablet is among the most powerful ones on the market, Dabbler will surely be a feat to use on the slate. The update should have hit your Nvidia Shield tablet already, but if not, just go to settings and perform the update manually. Also, check out Nvidia’s Black Friday sale for the Nvidia Shield Tablet, because the company is offering up a neat bundle deal: the 32 GB LTE Nvidia Shield Tablet, alongside the Shield controller, Valve’s Green Box and Nvidia GRID can be snatched for $400.
